Updated: ubank, which is a NAB’s digital-only bank, is one of a number of Australian banks and credit unions impacted by an outage at core services provider Data Action.
Earlier, ubank blamed an unspecified “systems outage” for its app and online banking services being down since just before 11.30am.
The app and online banking services show up as experiencing a “full outage” on the digital bank’s status page.
The bank said it is working to recover online services “as quickly as possible”, but later called the issues "intermittent" in a statement at 2.09pm, despite services remaining inaccessible.
"We understand this is frustrating and that some customers who are trying to perform their usual banking activities, like moving their money between accounts, are experiencing difficulties.," it said.
"We’re really sorry for inconvenience this issue may caused."
On X, it attributed the problems to a “system outage”. There was no ETA for recovery, but the bank said the issue was its “highest priority”.
Logging into the app led users to a landing page stating, “We’re busy working in the engine room and will have things up and running again soon”.
The app began to partially recover just after 9pm AEDST.
