SEEK, the ASX-listed employment marketplace operator, has elevated artificial intelligence responsibility into an executive-level role.
The company said that Grant Wright, who is currently general manager of marketplace and AI products, will be promoted to group executive of artificial intelligence from July 1.
The group executive has a seat on the executive leadership team, as well as an expanded remit outside of AI integration into the company’s product suite.
“In recognition of the increasing importance of AI to SEEK’s products and internal processes, Grant Wright will be promoted to the executive leadership team,” the company said in a financial filing. [pdf]
“Grant joined SEEK in 2016, and since 2018 has led SEEK’s AI team within the product function.
“He will continue in that role, which will remain integrated in the product team led by Simon Lusted and will assume the additional responsibility of leading a new initiative to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of SEEK’s internal processes, including through the application of artificial intelligence capabilities.”
SEEK’s chief executive Ian Narev said the elevation of AI responsibility would “heighten our focus on AI”.
Narev particularly called out the new internal focus on achieving efficiencies using AI technology, noting that Wright would identify “opportunities to streamline the way we work inside SEEK.”
