‘Work Anywhere, Thrive Everywhere’: Embracing Boundless Workplaces in a Changing World

The workplace as we know it is in a “constant state of change,” making it essential to adopt a boundless working model, according to Bhupinder Singh, Vodafone Business president, Asia Pacific and Middle East.

“The goal is to find inspiration for a borderless and boundless workplace ecosystem.”

‘Work Anywhere, Thrive Everywhere’: Embracing Boundless Workplaces in a Changing World

Singh shared his insights - along with CommsGroup CTO APAC Tristan Plummer - during a webinar discussion, ‘Work Anywhere, Thrive Everywhere - Insights into Boundless Workplaces.’

Singh cites recent statistics revealing that 72% of APAC employees view hybrid work positively for productivity (Cisco, 2024); and 60% of consumers consider a company's remote work policy in their perception of the company (Gartner, 2022).

These statistics underscore the monumental shift towards flexible work arrangements and the critical role of technology in enabling seamless collaboration and productivity.

Why Boundless Working?

According to Singh, ‘boundless working’ is a flexible and secure framework for organisations seeking to harness technology to enhance employee experience and collaboration for working anywhere, on any device, at any time.

“It offers the choice, flexibility, and connectivity needed to thrive in today's dynamic business landscape,” Singh said.

It's about establishing a “future-ready workplace ecosystem” that utilises technology to enhance employee experience and collaboration, ensuring equal access to digital services regardless of location, and providing meeting spaces that offer a seamless experience for both remote and in-person participants.

How do we get there?

Singh outlined four steps to success:

Create a Borderless Ecosystem: Establish spaces across the home, office, and beyond with the right connectivity, including LAN, Wi-Fi, or 5G.

Facilitate Adaptability: Integrate offline and online environments to cater to different workforce segments and personas, such as employees versus guests or Gen Z versus Gen Z.

Connect Fit-for-Purpose Devices: Implement an end-to-end integrated managed service to manage the mobiles and tablets needed by your workforce.

Equip Your People: Provide boundless access to seamless cloud-based digital communication tools, enabling them to get the job done from anywhere at any time.

Empowering Seamless Collaboration

According to CommsGroup's Plummer, fostering a boundless work environment hinges on unleashing the complete capabilities of Microsoft Teams, which is critical given the surge in Teams meetings and calls by 192% since February 2020. Employees now spend 57% of their time communicating across Microsoft 365 apps.

He said unlocking the full potential of Microsoft Teams requires a centrally-managed service approach, with a single service desk and delivery organisation globally, network integration with a single provider, and leveraging economies of scale to enable PSTN services across a broader global footprint.

“This is where Vodafone Business excels, offering a robust and unified communications solution that aligns perfectly with these requirements.”
