Microsoft has released a unified Teams app that enables users to toggle between work and personal accounts.
Work on the app was first unveiled by Microsoft back in March, with a preview released a month later.
In a blog post, Microsoft said that the app is now available for Windows 11, Windows 10 and Mac users.
“To date, there have been two Teams apps on Windows 11 – one for work or education and another for personal use,” the vendor said.
“This update brings work, personal, and education accounts into a single Teams app.”
The company said that “work, personal, and education accounts will open in side-by-side windows from a single Teams app.”
It also acknowledged that some users may have reasons for running multiple Teams accounts, and that the unified app would also make it simpler to manage this arrangement.
It will not be a free-for-all, however, with Microsoft adding that enterprise administrators “who have set sign-in restrictions for their users will have these restrictions respected.”
